Hi

I have 3 tanks

1 x 20L
1 x 180L
1 x 400L (new)

I have fish wise

20L
5 Neon
Various Molly Fry (will be sold back to LFS - already agreed)
1 Female Black Molly
1 Female Sword (guppies hassled)

180L
6 Corys
1 Pair Blue Rams (I think they are paired)
2 x Female Kribs (1 agresssive and one very timid)
2 x Pictus Cats (both very placid ... at the moment)
1 x Clown Loach (peaceful but timid on own)
1 x Small Pleco (think its female)
1 x Blue Gourami (peaceful)
1 x Female Swordtail
1 x Female White Molly
3 x Male guppies (can possibly rehome)

All are getting along fine though the stocking in the two tanks is way over (and risky for the little fishes in with the pictus), hence the purchase of the 400L.

I had planned to put the Kribs, Pictus Cats, Loach and Gourami into the 400L tank and move all bar the neons to the 180L, I want to purchase a few more loaches to make up a school and I'd rather leave the small pleco where it is at the moment as she is only small and very happy, so I'd probably get another one for the bigger tank as they do a great job with the algi.

I have got 2 x krib caves and partly blocked the openings, so they are too small for anything but them to squeeze in. Would that setup work???

There is definitely one krib I cannot leave in a tank with molly fry, even though its well planted, she would definitely eat them..

Sorry a lot of these fish we inherited with the 180L when we bought it (something I would never recommmend any fellow newbie doing (massive learning curve)) and now I am trying to sort it all out.

I assume that you are cycling the 400L tank before putting these fish in there - you can take some of the media from both the existing tanks before putting fish in there. Also, be prepared for ammonia/nitrite spikes.

If I understand what you are saying the proposal is:

20L
5 Neons

180L
6 Corys
1 x Small Pleco (think its female)
1 x Blue Gourami (peaceful)
1 x Female Swordtail
1 x Female Sword
1 x Female Black Molly
1 x Female White Molly
3 x Male guppies (can possibly rehome)

400L
1 Pair Blue Rams
2 Kribs (female)
2 Pictus Catfish
1 Clown Loach (soon to be more)

Your 20L tank isn't big enough for all the fish that are currently in there, and probably not even for the neons alone. They should probably be moved to the 400L tank. Having dither fish like the neons will benefit the Kribs in being more at home. I've never kept these fish, but it seems like a very interesting mix.

Hi

I did put the neons in with the Kribs once... it ate one within about 30 secs :) I can prob put the neons in the 180l, they are happy in with the mollies, and just keep the 20l as a hospital tank.

The gourami will go in the 400l its too big for the 180 and wont move the rams first off.. they are really healthy in the 180, but not sure what they'll be like with the babies, even though the ones I have are too big to be on the lunch menu!

Well, you don't want to do that again! I guess your neons weren't that big when you put them with the Kribs.

keep an eye on the kribs they get larger than most people realize and if they start to spawn you might be in for some trouble.

Hi Gatorsean,

they are both females :) luckily... I think they grow to 7cm... yes I never realized they got so big and the agressive one we have... well I'd assume she'll turn into a monster ... :0 :0

Thats why I earmarked them for the big tank really and only a ? on the blue rams.. actually my other half (who has been taking the mickey out of my hobby, since I only started in /may) loves the 400L tank and is now saying we should get another matching one for the other end of the lounge.. get that!! so I don't suppose we'll be having too many stockng worries once that one is in..

I would suppose not. I'd love to have more than my one tank, but I don't have tons of space.
