i have a 20 gallong long with 3 pictus cats, 2 uside down cats and 1 krib. i cant seem to be able to add more kribs, is too agressive. what other fish could i add?

a shoal of xray tetras or glass catfish or some gouramis

20g is too small for pictus long term I think, they can hit 4/5 inches in aquaria so I would try and swap them for an other upside down catfish so you have 3 of them then. Just to add a 20g is too small again for the glass catfish that cossie suggested and I also worry that the krib wont accept a gourami and in most cases I would think the gouramis would be too squishy to withstand any kind of attack.

With regard to the krib is it male or female? If you wanted an other krib you could try taking the krib out re arranging the tank introducing the new fish then re introduce the original krib about half an hour later.

Perhaps a good fish for your tank would be the black ruby barb a nice school of 6 would look good I think and are tough enough to act as dithers for the krib.

my pictus cats are full grown, ive had them for a couple years now, for the krib, i was told it was female but acording to other info its male so not exactly sure. its very brightly colored wth a bright red belly but ithas a pointed dosal fin like a male. i had tetras in there before but seems my pictus had them for a snack cause there not there anymore. i've redecorated my tank a few times but it just seems to make my krib angry and stress out my cats. i hve lots of wood and plants and caves. im a bit concerened with the barbs, my pictus are big, would they eat them?

How big are the pictus? and what are the dimensions of the tank? Have you got a picture of your krib for gender ID? Just to work things out.

If your' Krib has a rounded belly then it's a female. If it's a long sleek fish with a dorsal fin that flows way back then it's a boy.
Both sexes can have the red/pink belly but the females is much more vibrant.

this is the best pic i can get of the krib, it hides all the time, i only see it when its chasing the cats, my picts are a ood 6 inches and the smallest one is about 5inches. my tank is 30" long, 12.5" wide, 13" high
