If I were to purchase a 120 gallon tank...6ft long...
I definitely want five Clown Loaches. Could I have an Oscar pair...

i wouldnt think pair, u could barely hav 1 w/ 5 loaches, of course im no professional, so any1 w/ a lil more exp. can correct me.

If you run the numbers, it's possible. I'm not sure in practicality however. Inch per gallon rule is broken when it comes to big fish.

Personally, I think you could do it, but you better have some really hefty filtration.

That's what I was afraid of...It's really too bad Oscars and Clowns require so much space.

If I had the Clown Loaches, which I really really want, I guess I could do a school of Congo Tetras...

best way 2 do it is buy 6-8 baby's and wait for a 2 to pair off then give your lfs back the rest just picking 2 may lead 2 aggression l8r on but u could have 2 oscars easly in a 6 foot tank under the right circumstaces :) btw wots the width of the tank 2 foot would be minimum for an oscar really :)

I would have said no until I saw that www.thinkfish.co.uk thread
I am apparently about a third stocked which was shocking
If you are heavily overfiltered, like 2 external canisters, you never know Sharon, try the stocking tool on there and you might be surprised

The tank I'm looking at is 19 inches wide...No Oscars then...

72" by 19" sounds good dimensions for a pair of oscars to me (providing the height is adequate). Plenty of people keep a pair in a standard 125 tank (72"x18" as its a common size in the US). Extra width would be nice but I wouldn't have qualms keeping a pair of oscars in that tank.

Can I ask which thread this was, I'd be interested in what it said for me (see if I agree or not)
