Stocking Question

Would maybe 3 male guppies go well with several danios and rasboras? Also, do they really need salt?

Guppies do not need salt.

And 3 male guppies should be fine with danios and rasboras.

I have male gups, long finned leopard and zebra danios and rasbora harliquines and they have been fine together for months

They will be fine together. It is true that Guppy's can with stand salt in the water (they can even thrive in full salt water) although it is not necessary.

I have an AquaClear 50 on a 20 gallon tank. It seems to have a fair amount of current. Will the guppies be OK with that?

Also, what area of the tank do guppies stay? I'd like to have something to hang out in the middle area as the others are ofter at the top.

Don't worry about the filter...I have two filters totaling 350 gph on my 28 gallon (the smaller is turned down slightly though) and none of my fish seem bothered. If in doubt check decorations like plants...if they move slightly (like a gentle breeze) then it should be okay...but if fish and plants are being whipped around obviously that's not good.

My guppy goes everywhere. I think tank layout, lighting, current, and inhabitants all kinda play a small role in where fish like to go... he now likes to try to school with the rasboras...
