I'm good with stocking usually but this is my first time doing a community tank. I'm wondering if I am fully stocked or if I still have a little room?

Here is how my 55 gallon is stocked right now:

4 pearl gouramis
10 pearl rasboras
8 Diamond tetras
a pair of blue rams

I still really want to get some dwarf neon rainbows. They would really add some different colors to the tank and that is what I am looking for. I need some blues!!

I'm actually thinking of returning 2 of the pearl gouramis after seeing some full grown ones in my lfs. I'm thinking of just keeping a pair instead.

Adding a school of Rainbows to what you have now will probably be pushing the limits - mainly because of the Rams you don't want to overdo the stocking. Perhaps you can replace the Tetra's with the Rainbows or Rasboras though. Sounds like a nice plan though so far.

Yeah I was thinking of maybe taking the rasboras out. Putting them in another tank and just keeping the diamond tetras in the 55 gallon. I think it might look better as well not having two types of shaoling fish on the same level of similar size.

My intentions were to keep the diamonds in another tank but when I got the rasboras both seemed stressed without any other fish in the tanks so I put them together. It's gonna be hard to catch 10 rasboras in a heavily planted 55 gallon :S

I'll leave things as they are for now though because I cant get the rainbows for awhile yet anyways. They are pretty expensive here..gotta save up a bit :D
