Hi guys, in a week or so I'm gonna be adding some more fish to my tropical aquarium, i'm a little concerned after my experience with two male dwarf gouramis about getting any fish that will be aggressive toward each other, so I'm open for suggestions. I'd like to get some unique fish with lots of personality, and exciting to look at. Interesting/unique colors. It's a 20 gallon tank, and here's a list of what I already have:

1 Male Dwarf Gourami
1 Red Tailed Black Shark
2 Ballon Mollies
1 Fiddler Crab

So, what do you suggest?

I am not sure about the fiddler crab, but I am guessing they don't do well with slow moving fish or bottom dwellers as they'll probably catch and eat them? What kinds of fish do you like? Have any ideas already?

Yeah, I was thinking about clown loaches, since they seem to have lots of personality, but I don't think the crab would get on well with them....

NO the clown loaches and RTBS will get far too big for your tank...the crab could catch and kill slow or bottomdwellers.

Riiight... so i want something that's awesome to look at, I considered guppies and while they look pretty, i don't like their body shape (I know, I'm fussy).

(On an unrelated note, in a year or so when I get a really large tank, I wanna get some Rams. They look awesome.)

Hi Pseud

I wouldn't worry about your RTBS if your tank is a 20 gal UK, I have one in mine and he's absolutely fine. He's full grown and has been in there for over 3 years. 20 gal is the min for a fish of this size but he has enough room and i do weekly water changes. Clown loaches are a definate no-no though.

Maybe some of the dwarf rainbowfish, like the Praecox? They stay nice and small and are great community fish. They'd be fast enough to stay away from the crab!
