I have a river reef 94 litre

obviously won;t be buying all at same time but as I don't have a good knowledge of the fish out there I could do with some guidance

I like Percula clowns
red dragonets
starry blenny
royal gramma
firefish
coral beauty
regal damselfish
long nose hawkfish
dottybacks
ellow stripe anthias
candy basslet
bangaii cardinal
yellow tail blue damsel
yellow goby

what I would like is 2 percula clowns
red dragonet
royal gramma
yellow tail blue damsel and starry blenny

would this group go?

cheers for any help

2 Percs - fine no issue there
Red Dragonet - Is this a Red Scooter Dragonet ? if so rember you will need a lot of pods in your tank and make sure to buy a fat one
Royal Gramma - No Issues there
Starry Blenny - No Issues there apart from size
Yellow tail BLue Damsel - Evil little so and so`s I would not add if you want a peacful tank

6 fish might be a bit OTT in a 94l I only had 5 in my 130L I would think 4 would be about right

94L = 20 Gallon 1" per 2 Gallons = 10 inches of fish

2 Percs = 5.5"
1 Scooter = 3"
Starry Blenny = 5.5"
Royal Gramma = 3"
Yellow Tailed Damsel = 3"

I would maybe look at

2 Percs = 5.5"
1 Tailspot Blenny = 2.5"
1 Royal Gramma = 3"

This would be the most I would add or swap the tailspot for a Scooter Blenny this is why most people upgrade to a bigger tank as we all want the real nice fish but need a tank to fit them :)

cheers Morri

I've bought a book about saltwater fishes but still waiting for it to arrive

had a good look around on this and other site but not many gove advice as to what size tank you need etc

I'm with you on the bigger tank

I'm loving my new one but can see me needing a bigger one later on this year lol

I;d love yellow tangs but need the bigger tank for them

The rule of them is 1" per 2 Gallons but with marines its very difficult as its more about bio load a Tang or a Trigger for example have awful digestive systems so they make a lot of mess a Anenome Fish on the other hand are very light on the bio load. Then you need to take into account filter, skimmer etc.

I will send you a useful link I use to gauge sizes etc + they have lots of nice photos so you can browse through to see what you like.

P.S. I am very cautious with Tangs as they suffer whitespot quiet frequently if you have something like a powder blue you have 90% chance of getting it in the tank :( thats why i stick with the more solid ones like the Bristletooths :)
