am i not suppost to be fully stocking straight away.

at the LFS they said add about 1/3 of this

but agian
i thought the idea of a fishless cycle was to allow you to nearly fully stock from beginning

If this is not true what should i add tomorrow

As usual , please comment advise even critisize im all ears

Thanks

After a fishless cycle you can stock around 80% , then when the tanks matured in 6 months and a few more,

Tetra need a more mature tank, so you could stock them in 6 months :good:

A fishless cycle (Add&Wait 5ppm type) leaves the tank more than ready for 100% stocking by the 1 inch guideline. However, its very rare that people actually do that. And the neon/cardinal complication is one of the most common examples of why. Independent of the cycling, neons/cards seem to need the tank to be more like 4 to 6 months old before their introduction - noone knows why but it seems to be an accurate observation repeated many times. Likewise, its very common for people to wait some period of months or weeks before introducing expensive "centerpiece" fish, just to hopefully give them the benefit of a bit more tank aging, although often its also because of needing more time to find good stock or because the centerpiece fish are more sensitive like the neons (GBRs would be a common example.)
