I'm coming to the end of a fishless cycle on my 130L tank and plan to do a 90% water change at the weekend before buying some fish for the tank. This is my 3rd tank (if you include the hopsital/Q tank) and I already have 4 danios that are in the Q tank waiting to go in. In my main tank i already have tiger barbs and neon tetras plus 1 bn.

So for the 130L i wanted to go for something different and maybe some bigger fish that i cant keep in the 70L i already have up and running. I was thinking of something along the lines of:

Guppies, Danios, 4 bns (once the tank has been goinf for 3 months). I may get some gouramis (but not dwarves) and was thinking of clown cloaches. What do people think? Obviously I wouldnt get these all at the same time - but dont want to shoot myself in the foot like i did when i got my barbs, as i soon found out that it is difficult to put other fish with them.

I think you might want to put only 1 bn in the tank, as they establish very large territories and will fight over them. 120l is too small for clowns, they can easily get over a foot long and appreciate other clowns. Other than that I think it should work. :good: And how many tiger barbs are in the tank? In my experience, they aren't too hard to keep with other fish as long as they are in a school.

IMO 130l is a little small for 4 bns, 2 would be fine :) and maybe a bulldog/pitbull plec also. Clown loaches get big and need to be in groups so there not a great idea either but theres loads of others to choose from :)

Good luck and keep researching! Makes it all worth while when the fish are clearly happy :p

What bigger fish could i realistically go for? The largest fish i have in my 70L so far is probably a tiger barb or bn. I would like to have 2-3 big fish and then maybe get another fish that shoals like tetras etc

Depending on dimensions you might get away with Angels/larger gourami's :)
