Can anyone help with stocking levels at all?

I have a juwel rio 240 tank with a 400l filter which does 1000l/hr

in it i have 3 panda corys and 6 rosy barbs to finish the tank off i was planning a school of rummy nose tetras and 4 discus but would this be too much?

thanks

i know your gonna say the barbs are a no go with discus so planning on getting rid of them

personally I'd say a 240 litre would be an absolute minimum sized tank just for the 4 discus, and even that is pushing things!

Your best off with Sterbai Corys with Discus as they like the high temperatures. Though they do much better in higher numbers - a group of 12 would be fantastic :) Just be careful with Discus, they need very good water with low nitrates and a low ph. They can be a tough fish to keep in general - have you considered any of the "poor mans" discus like Severums, Rotkeil or the Mouthbrooders would do well in this tank. Or you could go for a group of Angels - Leopoldi Angels are very nice and becoming a little more common :)

ok so if i changed my corys then would the stocking level be ok? as the post above says the discus would be pushing the tank?

It is the bare minimum size wise and some would recommend against it but it is borderline.

yep, pandas like cooler temps than sterbai and discus. do you really want to push on to discus or try something smaller like dwarf American cichlids

i would love discus i just think they are amazing fish, deffo have heart set on them

You might want to have only a pair for your tank
