I Recently read in PFK magazine that after 6 months it was possible to keep up to 71 inches of fish in a 39 gallon tank assuming that the water quality and filtration was up to standard. I have a fluval 4 plus filter on my system. Have I miss read this or is this ok. : -_-

Water quality would need to be perfect (ammonia 0, nitrite 0, and nitrates no higher then the most nitrate-sensitive species in the tank can tolerate), and the tank would need to be OVERfiltered. After these two goals had been attained, it would be dependant on the actual tank dimensions (O2 availability) and the stock you wanted to keep (for example, 71 inches of neons or guppies are not the same as 71 inches of pleco or gourami...).
