Hi all
So I've just taken delivery of my new 260lt tank, I haven't stated cycling yet but have started to think of stocking options. My initial thoughts are...
6xredline torpedo bardbs
4xclown loaches
6xassorted corys
12xpenguin tetra
1xplec (type yet to be decided)
1xmale yellow lab and 3xfemale yellow lab.
Anyone any opinions as to if this will be a decent set up? Or other recommendations?
As to layout thinking sand, a rockery type bit in one corner and a largish piece of bogwood. Probably a few small plants.

Sorry but that stocking is not going to work out long term.... Or even short term really.

The Yellow Labs are African Cichlids that need to be kept in just African Cichlid tanks with equally aggressive fish that understand their behaviours and communications. American Cichlids could be an option though, things like Rainbow Cichlids, Blue Acaras, Ellioti, Firemouths, Sajicas would all work nice.

The Red Line Torpedo Barbs could work but.... there are more knowledgeable members on this forum with this species that can advise properly on these fish

The Clown Loaches will outgrow the tank you need a 6 foot tank for these when adult but there are smaller species of loach that work well like Yoyo Loaches and Polka Dot Loaches. Skunk Loaches could work also though sometimes a bit aggressive.

Penguin Tetras are nippy but a big school will help this.

The Plec avoid commons they grow too big for this tank but still loads of options when you have made the decisions :)

Thanks, exactly why I'm seeking advice, only had a small tank for 6ish months! Will look into the options of cichlids.

Do you mean you want to mix different cory species?
Cories need to be in a group of their own species so you would need 6 of just one species.
