I there. My tank's almost two years old now, a few of the first fish I bought recently died (of old age I would presume) and so my tank is looking a little empty.

I have two Juli cory catfish, 6 cardinal tetras and 5 sparkling gouramis.

Any ideas? I was thinking to either get more catfish or more cardinals but I don't want to freak the gouramis out, they're fairly timid!

Heya - rookie error! It's a 54l tank with gravel and lots of lovely wood and plants.

IMO you are already fully stocked. At 54 litres you ahve about 15 gallons, something I have a better feel for. The cardinals and gouramis account for about 12 gallons and the cories are good for another 4 or 5 gallons. That is m,ore space than you have. If you are willing to do tons of large water changes you can always bring in more fish, but for a minimal care situation you are already fully stocked. If I decided to add fish to your arrangement, I would get 3 or 4 more of those cories.
