I have just finished my fishless cycle and started stocking my 260L aquarium.

It's going to be planted with a variety of plants inc. Amazon swords, java fern, java moss and riccia.

I was thinking of doing an amazon theme (with a few variations due to the plants), but am unsure what fish to get.

Currently I have 10 cardinal tetra, 2 black mollies, 2 clown loaches and 5 amano shrimp.

I am hopefully getting a couple of blue rams tomorrow, but other than that, am open to suggestions as to stocking.

I can't really afford (the time and money) for discus as then cost quite a lot and need lots of water changes. I really need a fairly low maintenance tank.

Any ideas?

Martin

PS: Will the blue rams be ok with my amano shrimp, or will they be an expensive lunch for the rams?

Clowns do best in groups, I guess your tank is 4ft which is the smallest tank for clowns, so adding a few more would be good.

A Bristlenose or 2 would help contol algae, I also like Pictus catfish ( cool fish ) just a couple of my fav fish.

Apart from that it's personal preference really, there's lot of choic out there.

Mollies are brackish and clown loaches are asian not SA.

Cories, tetra, angels, BN's etc. are just a few from SA.

Thanks.

The mollies are from my other 70L (the mollie we had from start had babies and it was getting crowded in there!).

The clowns (I know they're asian) are my 'slight variation' as I had a snail infestation and they help control it :)

Not sure about angels as they tend to eat the tetras (don't they?).

Thanks for the advice

You understand clowns get huge? Takes them years though.

They eat things neon size 1".
