I have a 25 gallon tank with three small (around 1 inch) angelfish.  They tank has just finished cycling, I'm going to give it about a week, but I'm already antsy to add more fish.  The plan for the tank was to have two angels and then a school of smaller, peaceful fish.

My original thought was 6-8 black neon tetras.  However, there are so many tetra, rasbora, and barb species that I've been looking at and thinking about adding.

Anyone have any suggestions?

I added some pics of the tank and it's current inhabitants!

(he wouldn't sit still for a nice photo)

I would think that 3 angles would need more space then a 25g. 2 would probably be safer. Gold barbs might be a nice addition or some cherry barbs.  Stay away from tiger barbs they are big time fin nippers for angles.  Very nice tank.

Love looking at your tank. It looks soooo tranquil.

How bout some cories or a bristlenose pleco to spice up your bottom level?

What are the dimensions of the tank?

The tank is 30 inches long, 12.5 wide and 18 high (so the tank is advertised as 25 gallon but I put that into a gallon calculator and it says that's a little over 29 gallons, not sure what that's about).  My plan was to only have two angels, but they were tiny and I decided for now a third one wouldn't be a problem for the tank. Once they get bigger I have a friend with a 55 gallon that wants a larger angel.  So, eventually, it will only be two.

I was thinking about maybe adding a shoal of pygmy cories, my LFS gets them in occasionally but it probably isn't something I would special order from them because I think doing so costs extra.

I like cherry barbs but wasn't sure how they'd be with angels.  I know I had some in with a betta once, a pretty decent school of 9 or 10 even, and they still nipped him like crazy.  I probably sound silly but if I get them I'd probably want all males because they're prettier. Would that effect their temperament towards the angels?

Basically the whole purpose of this tank was so that I could get the platinum angel, so I will be quite displeased if anyone hurts the little guy :)

So calming looking at this tank...

About what to stock with Angels, im not too sure.. Sorry..

Thank you! It was on clearance on the store and I couldn't resist when I had the angel on my mind :) I like that the filter and heater are hidden, that's probably my favorite part!

And the wood design that comes with it,looks awesome! Im thinking of copying that look in my tank.. hmm.. :)

And Cories would be a nice addition with Angels but a sand substrate would be a much better choice for them though..

Since you had a bad nipping experience with cherry barbs, try not to add them then..

hmm.. how bout a school of Rummynoses or maybe Dwarf Otos?

Choices.. choices.. choices! Gd Luck! :)

I was going to suggest rummynoses, but wanted to know the dimensions first.
Think that is enough for them so would go with those :)

They are sometimes not recommended to go with angels though, so have a think on that if you want them.

Have heard it's fine to mix them so long as the rummies are given time to grow before adding angels. Or perhaps it'd be fine if the angels are quite small and raised with them.
