I am setting up a new 60 gallon tank right now and wonder if you think this will be too much:

My current stock being moved over:
1 Brichardi
1 Black Calvus
2 Julidochromis Regani
1 Frontosa

I would like to add 2 more Frontosa (3"-4") and maybe some Featherfins.

The tank is a standard 4 ft. but a bit taller. I realize the Frontosa get big, but read they grow about 1" per year, so I am thinking this may work okay for appprox 2-3 years ?

I'm just not sure and would rather hear from people who actually have these type fish.

Thanks !

Frontosa grow much more than 1" per year, i'd say they should grow by about 4-5" in the first year, and then slightly slower in following years,

If it were me I'd go with a species tank of Neolamprologus tretocephalus, although i guess you could keep a couple of these with the other 3 cichlids you mentioned for a year or so whilst they were still young, Like Frontosa, adult tretos would be too aggressive for the others

Neolamprologus tretocephalus. Ummmmm....that looks like my Frontosa. Was my fish mislabeled ? Here is a pic:

EDIT: Looked at more pics  ....I think it is Frontosa, kinda hard to tell until they get the hump on the forehead !

Yup thats a baby front there, aaawwww so cute. Minimum tank size really is 5ft, there prefer darker lighting as they are a deep water fish. Try this site, dedicated to the Fronts. There are many that say they should be species only set up but others have managed to keep fronts with other fish, however I am tending to think its more a single front with other fish rather than a group of fronts. Not an expert just what I have read and seen pictures of.

Thank you Star. I do love him, his name is Moses. I will keep him and not get any others. I am thinking just moving him and the Calvus for now. I can always upgrade to another tank later. Coincidentally I was disappointed in the light on the tank as it is dim, so guess I'm set ;)
