Hey all!

I have been considering this stocking list for a while, and it keeps undergoing some revisions. The latest one is probably due to the imminent ordering and subsequent arrival of the plants for this.

The list I am considering is primarily built around some Angels. It is as such:

2x Angels (6 juvis, selling/returning until I have a pair)
2-4x Rams/Apistos
1/2 Firemouths (these are new, I am aware only 2 species of chiclid is a good idea, so need to weigh up possibilities)
10-15x corys (probably 2 schools of 6-8 of say, panda and trillineatus?)
10-15x tetra (probably Rummynose, as they look great, but open to ideas)
Maybe a group of hatchet fish, aprx 10? dunno how I feel about them, so need to find somewhere that has them in for me to gawk at...
??? Some Endlers, I have loads, so having some in here to provide a stream of babies to be nommed as well as fun courtship rituals etc, may be a no go due to size issues and stocking???

All advice is welcome, so please read, comment, flame, re-build/re-design the list etc, there are no limitations on the stocking, other than I like Angel fish, but they are not a requirement if you can make a good suggestion otherwise.

Regarding placement, this is a fairly central tank in the living room and so there will be a regular amount of traffic, as well as noise from the TV, which will rule out more timid species that won't appreciate the surround sound (not massively loud, but still present)

Cheers all in advance!

Careful on the firemouths... the pair I introduced attacked my cories(and I don't mean chased... but drew blood) until I brought them back to the store. There are other cichlids that won't be as aggressive. I have and have had a breeding angel pair with bolivian rams, keyholes, and cupids with no problems.

Jeez, where are all you people getting all these terror firemouths? My 3 inch firemouth is getting bullied by a 3/4s inch apistogramma as we speak  he's such a sissy

You'll probably never see your firemouths, then. They're a fairly shy species. In multiple cases they don't tend to come out until it's feeding time or when there's not a lot of people around. It'll also rule out the keyholes suggested above, as they also tend to be pretty shy. why not get 2 angels and 2 bolivian rams and an apistogramma trio instead?

Ditch the rams, go with 2 male and 4-6 female apistos. I would leave out the firemouths, as they are unpredictable in their behavior. Hatches would be an awesome surface dweller, just make sure you keep a cover on the tank. Full grown angels will eat full grown male Endlers. Just my two cents.

Sounds like the firemouths are out, as are the endlers. I'm interested in the 6-8 apistos, but I always see the females looking very drab. Any suggestions an apecies of apistos to look into that have not just gray females? The tank is covered, hence why I'm looking into hatchets.

Any more input/suggestions?
