hey im getting a rio 240 and am thinking of getting this stocking

2 Convicts , jewel , blue cray fish , 5 bosemani rainbows , senegal bichir

i know the jewel isnt new world but they have been known to get along

I would make it only one convict, then you might be ok, with two, if they pair up, the rest of the fish will be in trouble.

ye im gonna watch the 2 to start off with and if there is trouble remove one what plec could i get in the tank?

Don't you think that they cray fish will do enough clean up by him self?

he does ok in the 2ft tank now but i doubt it in the new one just by himself plus hes a lazy git

I am absolutely no expert but I've heard that rainbows are very peaceful fish that shouldn't be put with more aggresive things like cichlids. Don't shoot me if i'm wrong i'm just passing on what i've heard :)

They can be kept with cichlids. They are a very common dither fish actually. They should be kept with more placid cichlids such as severums. I wouldn't house them with something like a convict.
