Hi everyone, I got given a 52L tank over xmas; I've never looked after fish before so its been a very steep learning curve for me :). This is just a quickie about my current stock and any changes I should make.

Tank: Is a 52Litre unbranded 60x29x30cm with hood and 15w PL, I have an Eheim 2008 pickup Filter and I have quite a few plants and a nice piece of bogwood.
Plants: Salvinia Natans (floating), Amazon sword, Cardamine Lyrata x2, java fern x2, Anubias, and Twisted vallis x2

Stock:

Pair of Golden Wonder Killi's
Breeding Pair of Kribensis
serpae Tetra x 8

Everything appears fine, the male Kribensis has only been slightly aggressive towards my serpae while mating but never did anything more than nudge forward to say leave this area sort of thing. Only had the Kribensis two weeks and I picked them up as a breeding pair. The last two weeks they have been digging around I got a small rock cave which the female spent days in but no results. so my question is how stocked am I? I'm refraining from adding anything else really but I wouldn't mind adding a hillstream loach or something odd that would go if I can, maybe a few apple snails?

Will try to add a few pic's, thanks for any input.

Your tanks a bit small for kribs IMO :/
Did you ever cycle the tank?

I'd say it's about stocked, but apple snails are fine, they don't contribute to stock levels as their bioload is so small.

Hey thanks for the reply, Oh thats a shame :(. I have plans on getting a freebie 220L from a mate in a month so maybe I can move them into that. Yeah I cycled the tank, took 6 weeks and I used an api master test kit. I think I got lucky when I added a previous smaller bit of bog wood that had been sat in the plant section in Tri-Mar aquatics. within a couple of days I had nitrite and a week later it was cycled.

So you did a proper fishless cycle? Good. Yeah they'll be great in a 220L
