How is this stocking list for my 30g tank?

2 clowns
2 gobies (one firefish, one other)
1 lawnmower blenny
6-10 hermit crabs
3-5 snails
then either:
3 chromis
2 wrasses
or 2 chalk bass

Oh, and possibly an urchin of some sort a little later, particularly if they are sensitive.

If that stock would be ok, what order should I add them?

Thanks!

Are we talking FO or FOWLR? Thats a lot of fish even for a FO if you ask me.

Oh, ok... see I don't know what the stocking should be on these things... sorry! It's a FOWLR tank.
The main things I really want is the blenny and a clown, then of course some hermit crabs and snails. What do you suggest, out of the fish I have listed, for numbers/order to be added?
Those are the fish I've seen that I really like, though I'm open to suggestions as I don't know much at all about saltwater fish.
Thanks!

well 2 clownfish in a 20 gallon (3 inch clowns) is already pushing it...... So that may give you a slight idea on how to stock marine tanks.

and that was a bit.... and its a 30

Well in a 30 gallon i would go for 2 true (percula sp??) clownfish, 1 firefish and 1 yellow watchman goby

Thats just what i would do,
I would make sure that the tank is cycled (with LR) add CUC then if all is god in a week or 2 put your clownfish in (maybe 1 one week and 1 the next unless they are a pair) then monitor levels. If all is good in a few weeks go ahead and add the firefish and then your watchman goby.

This is a very basic but thats just how i would do it. Dont overload the tank take it slow.

Sorry CUC is clean up crew. You could have lots of different inverts hermets and snails, sea slug, you really have hunderds of choises (not hunderds in one tank, just to be clear)

Good luck

having hermits and snails are very useful and they arent really considered part of the stocking since they have a low bio-load, they eat detritus, stir sandbeds, and eat algae (not all of them do the same thing though). Get some turbo or anstrea snails for algae, maybe some red or blue legged hermits for detritus and algae and sand bed, and some nassarius snails for sandbed and detritus. So i would say yes you can get them.

What is CUC?
Is the 2 clowns, goby and firefish all I could have, or could I still add a couple of hermit crabs and snails?
Thanks!!

My stocking is what i would do, you can choose what ever you want (within reason) but 2 clowns, a firefish and watchman give you colour and activity just so it wont be boraing. Also maybe think about a purple firefish, bit more expensive though.

Clown would be fine on its own my tomato clown is fine, i think he would stress if there were another. Well if you want an urchin then im sure you could get one. Some have special needs and they move rocks etc, research which one :good:

OK, thanks! From what I've read about urchins they're a bit delicate, so I'll probably wait a month or so after everything else is in and settled before I try one. I'll be sure to make sure it isn't one that'll scoot the rocks around though... I wouldn't want a squished fish!

Corraline algae is the pink and purple stuff that grows on the live rock, isn't it? If so, I'm not sure I want them to eat that... I think it's pretty.
yeah, that's what it is. But remember - urchins are pretty, too! Better pets than coralline algae, anyway. :p
