Stocking An 80L Tank

the corys im not so bothered about it was the lemon tetras i would idealy like to keep

if i cant keep the corys ill stock with something else maybe a killifish? for the upper strata or the sterbai corys

i just realy like lemons :p

What is the main fish you want?
The easiest way to stock will be to pic one fish and centre the tank around them.

I am sure someone will complain, but I have never had a problem keeping successfully breeding wild and F1 from wild rams in 25-26°C tank long term. It is up to you if you want to try it, but by the sound of things, a lot of people do not have success with lower temperatures.

How long did they live for? ive heard of a few people breeding blue rams in lower temps but they often only live for about 6months not the 3years + like they should.

The wild pairs lived for 3 years, with one pair making it to 4. The F1 for 4 years on average.

Well i cant argue with that but i can honestly say thats the first time ive heard of them living at that temp for over a year. i wonder if it was to do with the fact they where F0 and F1 and that th aquarium starins are weaker and less adaptable to temp change.

ok thanks guys ill choose between the two :(

What about:
2 Electric blue rams (1m 1f)
15 X-Ray Tetras (similar to Lemon tetras but prefer a slightly higher temperature)
8 Sterbai corys

i will look into them thanks :) and thanks to every1 else for your input

The Rams need a high temp whereas the corys need a low temperature.
And I would only have 5 Peppered Cories or 5 Albinos but not both.

Not ALL cories NEED low temperatures, I'm pretty sure that sterbai can be kept alongside discus - very hot water for tropical fish.
I agree with only keeping 1 type of cory in a tank that size at least - and from my personal view not albino, but then again it isn't my tank.

Also rams require softer water to thrive so if your water is hard you'd have to soften it which, if you're a beginner I wouldn't suggest doing as it's a lot of hassel.

Good Luck with the tank.
