Fish Gatherer
This is from my boyfriend, any help is appreciated:
I am having a change around on my tank.
At the weekend I am going to remodel the tank so I will have slate caves, a load of silk plants, a rock tower (with space to swim between the rocks), sand and a large piece of bogwood.
I am wondering are all these fish compatible with each other; and if not can you recommend alternatives. At the minute you can see that I am still deciding, so I am just looking for advice on compatibility at the moment
So far I am thinking about:
- Neon Tetra / Green Tetra
- Bronze Cory’s
- Cherry Shrimp / Bumble Bee shrimp
- Khuli Loach or another small breed of loach (preferably one that likes to eat snails)
- Platties (I currently have 2 females which I’ve had since tiny fry). I also have a male platy (in a separate tank) so I can always swap the platties over and get more males if need be.
I think all are peaceful fish and I am aware that all of these fish would prefer to be in groups of the same species; but I’ll come back with numbers once it has been confirmed or not whether the fish are compatible.
Neon’s will be my Mid/High level swimming fish, Cory’s as my low level bottom feeders, shrimp for everywhere and the loaches to deal with the snail problem I have as well as shift the sand about.
So my question is are these fish compatible? Or are any of these going to cause any problems? Or do you have any other recommendations?
The tank is 20 gallons long, the tank has been up and running over 18 months so it’s fully cycled.
