My tank seems to be finally cycled after 6 weeks. I’m hoping to do a final check in the morning, do a big water change, and once the tank has warmed up get the fish. I’m hoping to add 6 cardinal/neon tetras in say 4-6 weeks time once the tank has matured. But in the meantime, my stocking is looking like:

6 Zebra Danios
6 Penguin Tetras
6 Rasboras
1 bristlenose
6 Platys - mickey mouse or 6 Corys (Peppered corys)

What do members think to:
Will these fish be ok in a 125ltr (81x35x50cm) tank?
Will they get on with each other?
Would it be better to go for 6 platys or 6 corys?
What male vs. female numbers should I go for?

Any advice appreciated.

The fish will get on as you havent got any 'agressive' fish so to speak. There's plenty of room for your fish in that tank, and it's your decision for corys or platys but i would go for corys as they are bottom dwellers and will add some interest to your tank, aswell as keeping it clean. With danios/rasboras it's hard to sex them , but the fish you've mentioned aren't particulary randy so id you end up with all boys its not so much of a problem. hope it helps :p

Me too, I'd go for the corys. You've already got quite a bit of life and interest in the higher levels of the tank, corys will add that little bit extra.

good good - all i can say aswell is if you ever see something nice in the lfs- take a note of the name of the fish and come on here to ask if it's compatible with your other fish. I say this because most (but admittedly not all) are just more interested in selling. My first betta (rest his soul) had his fins ripped to shreds by a shoal of rummy nose tetras that i was sold under the impression they would be ok. After this incident I have not since asked an lfs's opinion!

Hope your tank set up goes well want pics!!!
