i have just purchased this tank of ebay (only £150 inc stand!) its currently in my garage due to be set up in a couple of weeks. i am upgrading from a bow fronted open top 2 1/2 ft tank. the new set up will be in sand (its a pain but my corys like it). i have a few fish but was just wondering if the over all new set up i have loosely planned would be ok?

cardinals x 8
albino 3 spot gourami pair
dward gourami pair
black widow tetra x 6 ( these are the biggest i have ever seen!)
bronze corydora x 4
female siamese fighter x1
siamese flying fox x1
platy x 3
molly x3
zebra snails x2
bristle nosed plec x2

this tank will also be planted but with an open swimming area.

is this ok and if so is there anything else i can add that will fill the top strata?

I would probs do -

2 x Gold gourami - make sure they are both female
2 x Dwarf gourami - make sure they are both female - with both to avoid aggressive males, its more of a preventative measure incase you get a nasty male
10 x Cardinals
8 x Black Widow Tetras
3 x Platty - all male to avoid fry unless you have options of homing fry properly again just a preventative measure to avoid you being inundated with fry.
3 x Molly - as above - but you sometimes hear of pretty nasty mollies in community tanks so I would perhaps go for more plattys if you dont have the mollies already?
1 x Flying fox
8 x Bronze Cories
2 x Bristlenose plec - or similar sized species, there are plenty more small plecs available now so if your not 100% of the look of the BN a lot of nice plecs around in stores atm
5 x Zebra Snails

You will have a nice mix all over the tank really, the gourami are mainly upper mid water fish the livebearers are mid water schoolers are mid to lower regions (but generally all over) and then the cories scoot around the bottom while the plec and the fox dangle off decor, plants and glass :)

Wills :)
