Alright guys, this is a separate aquarium from the one I'm putting by my home theater system, lol. I have a 10 gallon tank in my room, I was thinking maybe 4-5 neon tetras, or guppies, 2-3 corys of some sort, and either a betta or a dwarf gourami for the centerpiece? Would that be overstocked?

Nope, 10 Neons, 6 Pygmy Cories and a Betta would be lovely! The Neons should be peaceful towards the Betta, as in not fin nip.

I know I upped the numbers, but the Neons need a shoal of at least 5, the more the better. And the Cories need at least 6 in a group.

James. :good:

Really that many? That's gotta be two inches per gallon, that wouldn't be overstocking it?

Using the inch per gallon method is not useful really. If you are concerned just do 5 Neons, although they need a mature tank of at least 4 months of age. Why not try Glowlight Tetra or something more hardy?
