my 60 gallon (120x45x45) is looking very empty, its currently just got 12 glistening rasboras and some amanos. id like a community of south-east asian nano fish but with at least one unique species, i like liquorice gouramis, wild bettas or maybe halfbeak? and then some sort of bottom dweller. basically im after some unique nano fish that will stay in the bottom third of the tank and live happily with the other species mentioned. Any ideas?

What are your water parameters including GH?

was previously an apisto breeding tank so currently softwater and acidic:
ammonia 0
nitrite 0
nitrate 0
ph - 6.2
kh - 2 dKH
gh - 3 dGH
TDS - 40ppm
conductivity - 70µS/cm

I like celestial pearl danio and Phoenix rasbora but they are not bottom dwellers. Great color.

Yes i currently have cpd in my 80 litre, very pretty fish. id love to add somthing tiny like phoenix rasboras or dwarf golden barbs but not sure on how compatible they are with my centrepiece options i worry the halfbeak will eat them?

You could do some more rasbora species, such as rummy nose or sword tail. Celestial pearl danios are another good option. Quite a few barbs are from south east asia, cherry barbs and five banded barbs are two peaceful options from Southeast Asia. Glass catfish are quite a fun bottom dwelling fish however they are most active at night and will need to be fed at night. There are a lot of fun small loaches from south eats asia such as dwarf chain or kuhli. Halfbeaks are a very fun fish, just make sure the flow isn't too high and the light isn't too strong. I'm not sure about wild betta types, but halfbeaks can work with the common betas (depends on the individual) and many gourami species.

Hope this helps
