Does everyone think that this is a good combination for my 37 gallon tank (i haven't started it up yet)

1 pearl gourami
12 harlequin rasboras
6 kuhli loaches
3 oto cats

i have a heater, a penguin 170 bio wheel filter and a penguin bio wheel mini filter if i have to use it.

Hi Mitchl17! Your stocking plan sounds good to me! I also have a 37 gallon tank and am planning on having Pearl Gouramis. After researching this species, the Pearl Gourami does like to be in small groups (1 male and 2-3 females). Just don't put 2 males together in this size tank. If you wanted to have a group of Pearls, you could go with 3 Gouramis (1 male and 2 females) and cut down on the number of rasboras. So, basically, you could have 8 rasboras and 3 Pearls. That's still a nice school of rasboras. I wouldn't cut down on the number of loaches, however, as they prefer to be in schools of 6 or more.

Of course, if you don't prefer a group of Pearls, that's ok too. In this case, you can keep your stocking plan as is! :)

For the time being, I'd avoid Gouramis; there appears to be a nasty disease afflicting them at the moment. Almost always fatal, too.
