I wasn't really targeting singles, I really like the julids and buescheri.
Do you think with my current 4 and these 2 I should stick to singles?

Normally if you had a tang community youd target different areas of the tank.eg- a rock dweller, open water dweller and a sand dwelle. If i suggested to keep groups for you tank then id say something like 6 shellies for the sand, 2 altolamps for the rocks and say 12 paracyps for the open.

With the singles youve got you definately want to keep one tret and one on lelupi. If you wanted a pair of something id prob go with a small pair of julies like transcriptus or ornatus. with a tang tank you cant really pick and choose without one affected the other. The other option you could get a few more calvus and wait for them to pair off. Its upto you if you wanted to decide whether you want plurals of a few or higher numbers of a select species and get the behaviour and breeding going on. cheers

Cheers for help, thats ok. no they will cross breed. I see youve posted on cichlid forum aswell.

Oh ok. Yes I've been on cichlid forum too.
I returned the duboisi and got some new fish now I have

1x Tretocephalus Cichlid (Lamprologus tretacephaleus)
2x Leleupi Cichlid (Neolamprologus leleupi)
2x altolamprologus calvus black
1x lamprologus ocellatus
1x julidochromis dickfeldi
I've just looked back and seen you suggested that I should keep the leleupi single, oops , why was that? I've got 2 now and my first post said it's the orange but it's not its yellow.
I'm thinking now a few more shell dwellers some more Julie's and any suggestions on something that will swim high?

because if they breed it will make thinks a lot worse. As mentioned on the other forum you have to many rockdwellers. i also mentioned to get small julie and you got a big one. Now you have a shellie aswell that will prob get bullied. You need to make a decision and keep the singles as i mentioned or keep fewer species and more of them. If you get more shellies which the ocellatus are aggressive to each other you will have to lose the julie and the leleupi. The tret would have to go aswell. You have too many rock dwelling fish. I have a 550 litre tank and i only keep 4 species. You will end up with dead fish when they grow up.
