Hey Everyone,
Been a long time since I have posted on here.
I have upgraded my tank recently and need to change my bio soon.
But along with my current 4 foot tank, I have set up a 3 foot tank that is 1.75 foot deep and 2 foot high. Its all set up and ready to go (cycled etc) and i just want some ideas on what to put in the tank.

I was originally thinking of a pair of Green Terrors, but then I started having second thought and want to get something with some nice colours. but i can not seem to find many at all.
I just want suggestions on some beautiful fish that would look great in my tank. I currently have an oscar in my other tank so i want something a bit different.

Any ideas would be awesome

I have also posted this to the African/Old World Cichlid Forum

And I've removed it from there, because you're asking for advice on New World Cichlids. ;)

any cichlids actually, i wanted ideas, thats why i put it in both forums

One of the most stunning colourful cichlids I ever kept was the threadfin acara   (Acarichthys heckelii) . The pictures never do them justice.

If this photo doesnt do justice, then im defs getting one or two

lol, yes that is a very good picture, BUT its missing the orange, green and blue in the body, the brilliant shine to the scales although shows up on that picture in the flesh they are out of this world. As soon as I get some space in one of my tanks I am having them again.

have a drool over these :)

Well heck.
Sir you have got yourself a sale!
And i noticed that they had some rummynoses in there with them, that just adds to the awesomeness, i wanted a decent sized fish that could be with smaller fish, bevause that what you would see in the wild!!! :D

I have a Threadfin :) I think he is a male and is called Ted, great fish would like more but they can sometimes be species intolerant but if you get a group as youngsters it can work from what I have seen.

Have to say though not sure I would put these in a 3 foot tank.... They can get quite big and are chunky fish.

Wills

if you got a threadfin it would have to be your only fish because of room, or could do a blue acara and a rainbow, or a firemouth and a rainbow, or some combination of those fish.
