Still No Nitrites?

Hello all, I'm in the process of doing an "unintentional" fishin cycle and have a question about nitrites. I've been doing my daily pwc's (25%) for two weeks now, the ammonia has never reached more than .25 ppm, the nitrates are at about 5.0 ppm but I have never once seen any nitrites. Is this normal?. I thought for sure I'd see something by now.

Are you getting nitrates produced or is that 5ppm constant? If you're not sure leave the water change for a day and see what the difference is in the levels.

If you have nitrates being produced then the cycle is coming to an end and you just need to wait for the magic zeros on ammonia and nitrites.

I'm not sure, I've tested my tap water & found no nitrates.. if the ammonia isn't am issue tomorrow I'll take your advise and wait one day...
