still confused--treating ich

If the medicine says "2 drops daily" doesn't that mean that in a few days there's going to be a very strong solution of the chemical in the water? I know I must sound stupid, but I'm treating my fish now, and I'm unsure whether to just add medicine to the water-change water, or keep up the full dose. The medicine is Ich Cure, and smells strong. My fishes are tiny. Can I make the dose lighter? And for how many days after the spots are gone? I'd like to know how others have done this, and their results.

Most medicines give dosage in drops per gallon, not drops per day. I'm not sure if adding more and more medicine is the right thing to do.

Personally, I would suggest you try out a different medicine, after doing a 50% water change. I use one called "Rid All: Anti Ich" My ich was gone in 2-3 days

Thanks for the reply. Yes, the dosage was 2 drops per gallon per day "until cured". I think you're right about trying another brand. Nothing is happening so far. But I've put them in a completely different, clean tank, and they act like everything's just fine. We finally got an answer from the lfs, and she said the solution dissolves or disappears within 24 hrs.
