Hi guys,

I'm particularly looking at Sterazin to get rid of any snails that may be on some new plants.

So, does anyone know how to use it and at what strength and how long? And does it work? I have

found a few topics on forum, but nobody really gave an answer. :(

Thanks, :good:

It is normally used to kill internal parasites. I normally run a 15 day course after adding any new fish to my tank just in case.

It is quite hard to remove snails. There are many suggestions many of which rarely work.

The best way to keep them down (unless they are malaysian trumpet snails) is to buy a few loaches.

For a small tank then chain loaches only reach 2" or so.
For a tank 125ltr or bigger you could get a few zebra loaches or similar size or even a few Kuhli loaches.
Clown loaches are for much bigger tanks

If they are MTS then loaches are a no-no because their sheels are incredible hard and can damage the loaches beak.

Other ways are to drop a piece of cucumber (with a fork stuck through it) in the tank at night. When you wake up next day it should be covered and you can just pull the fork out and chuck the cucmber with snails into the bin.
