Some of the local people in a remote market - the sight of a "tourist" is very rare - and they stared at us as much as marvelled at the beauty of it all!
The vibrant colours and they way the people dress are just amazing. As was their friendliness and warmth.

(This first one was actually at the town of Cuenca - the rest at the market)

Very nice pics. I was intrigued by the topic title! My husband is going to the Amazon next month, I'll tell him to be careful about photographing the people. He has been to the Gallapogos (sp?) Islands, he said it was well worth going. :)

Thanks everyone :good:

Mr G, it's a Canon EOS 20D and most of these particular ones were taken with the 75-300 IS USM lens.

A nice camera, the pics have some excellent colour ..... I'm just getting to grips with the Canon EOS 400D.
Do you take your pictures in RAW or jpg (or both).

To be honest, I wouldn't have a clue what to do with the RAW files - despite knowing I could probably get the hang of the basics in several of the books I have (or the internet). Hence wanting to do a photography course this year. I have done absolutely nothing with any of the images (in terms of enhancements - apart from cropping to upload to photobucket.
Canon's definitely rock - have fun with your 400D :good:

Thanks a lot Troutfly :D If I can ever get round to it, I'm going to have some large prints made of some of them (as well as a few of my other trip a year ago to Namibia & Botswana). Minoltas are fab cameras - and a 10x zoom is a great feature.

Beautiful photos Bloo. So natural looking, always make the the best shots rather than posed.
