In no way was that a final stocking list for the tank, It was done merely to give the OP a starting point that they can work on, and clarifes a few species that would more than likely go perfectly well with their existing stock.

Personally when cichlids are concerned I generally keep 1 of each species to reduce the risk of problems occuring, although you can go the opposite route that juanveldez suggests above where you go with a group of a single species

now i know im a bit biased on the cichlid sublect but in a 75g with your stocking id go for a good sev all the way.

Oh, I love Sevs. The problem is that I can never seem to find a healthy one around here. Do they not ship well or something? All the ones I see are sickly. I got lucky on my last one. When I purchased my little firemouths I was actually there to get another sev but they looked awful again (and I had to drive 2 hours just to find them).

I might return the pleco. I thought that he'd get a little larger than 4 inches (about 6 or 7, I was told).

Well if you return the pleco you could have more choices for bigger fish a con would surely go after the pleco any way. I like Davo's suggestion of a Blue Acara if you don't want to go for oscars.
