I'm new to the forum but am seeking advice on starting over with fish. i just lost all but 1 of my fish to 4-day power outage in ice storm [don't ask me how the one survived! he/she/it is an older black widow and i thought it was dead, too, like the eight clown loaches (some 8 years old!) and assorted cichlids in the 3 tanks. but the little guy seems to have recovered just fine.] anyway, i have a 125-gal, a 70-gal, and a 58-gal. i'm thinking about simplifying my life and just keeping the 125. so i'm thinking about oscars and angels, not together. maybe a plec with the oscars. i know oscars get big and i can deal with that. when i buy fish, i feel committed to them so i know oscars can be around a long time and grow to 13" or so. but i like what i read about their personalities. re angels, i've had angels before (one lived to be about 7 or 8), but never a lot. so if i just went with an angel tank and maybe a plec, how many and are they going to fight as they get older? i really hate it when they fight. and i won't have a separate tank to use for separation. and i don't really want to breed them. so what's a person to do? ideas???

You could have quite a big shoal of Angelfish in there.

I think you could have at least 10 angels.

Then you could have a few plecos and some corys and tetras (just not too small).

You could have a nice big amazon tank.

Since you have a nice large tank, as long as you have 5 or more angels you shouldn't have a problem with fighting. Also, the other angels and any other fish you have in there should eat the eggs or newly hatch fry, so chances are slim you'll end up with many surviving fry.

Sorry to hear you lost your fish, fortunatly I didn't lose power, but there are still several thousand without here.
