Hello.
So i stopped having a tropical tank at the end of May. then i went and did Goldfish. My goldfish however are too big and i am selling them to somebody who can provide better care to them in a bigger tank (100 gallon)
Anyways, I now want to go back to tropical. I want a colourful tank with lots of schooling fish. And one fish that really stands out. Also, I want colourful fish if possible :)

What would you guys recommend?

HI tropicallover, have a look on this link for idea's and price, see what takes your fancy........

Taking your preferences into account, I suggest the following:

Your centrepiece fish: a pair of dwarf gouramis
Shoaling fish: eight neon tetras or galaxy rasbora
Bottom dweller: six cory cats

The possibilities are endless though, are there any particular fish you like?

Adding to what Salam said I'll make another list of possibilities:

Centerpiece fish: trio of honey gouramis or pair of Bolivian rams. (on the honeys you'll need 2 female 1 male or 3 females, and on the rams 1 male 1 female or 2 females would work best)

Schooling fish: 10 espeis rasboras, or 8 of MOST tetras, but not all so check here first.

Bottom dweller: 6-8 corys such as albino, Julii etc but some may be a bit big, or 6-8 kuhli loaches

Feel free to add some shrimps as well :good:

Or! Make the tank 30C teperature and get a pair of German Blue rams as the centeriece, and cardinal tetras for a shoaling species, and 4 Julii cories.

Galaxy rasboras don't shoal, they form loose groups, & tbh don't move that much & are very shy.
I wouldn't recommend them as a shoaling fish if you want any action in your tank.
Also they do best in lower temperatures, so wouldn't go ŵith gourami

Except, cardinals prefer their temperature below 80 and Juliis below 79 F whereas GBR like 86 F so the 3 species aren't really compatible.

GBR also aren't as hardy as bolivians.

Sorry, my mistake. Learnt something new again :good:

I think the OP is googling all those fish we suggested now, so many possibilities :)
