Started New Tank

Hi everyone, I just joined up and have been reading a bunch of posts looking for advice and guidance. My plans are to have a sparkling clear tropical tank,(isnt that everyone's dream).

So far I have gotton a 10 gal tank I believe(20x10). I filled it and started running the filter and heater about 3 days ago. I added gravel, air pad(submerged below the gravel) and 2 plants, an Anubis something on 2 lava rocks and a stalk of Mondo grass and lighted lid all last night. How am I doing so far?

My fish plans are to get a handful of Neon Tetra's and maybe a Dwarf Blue Gourami or 2 as the center piece. What else could I get to make it colorful, attractive and in balance fish or plants wise?

I noticed today that when I got the plants about 3 super small snails came with them. Is this good or bad for me?

About the snails: bad they will eat your plants. Remove them as quickly as possible otherwise they will breed and you will have a massive population of snails or get a assassin snail which will eat them. Check with other members about the snail problem as well. As for the stocking advice I only have a biube so check with the other members again as well. Hope it helps.

Thanks for the advice, But whats an assassin snail, will my pet store have one?
