hi i am thinking of turning my juwel trigon 350 trigon into a marine tank would the standered lighting be ok for live rock and a few corals. any advice would be very helpfull. thanks

the standard lighting is average in the jewel tanks not really enough for corels, do you have the Jewel reflectors? they make a big difference to the light so if you dont have them id recomend em!! this would be ok for live rock!!

if you want to keep corels though would deffo say get an ugrade, stick some power compacts in there!! thats what ive just done and the difference is quite amazing!!

if ur feeling really flush do away with ur service flaps on the top and get a couple of metal halide pendants then youll be able to keep anything you like (light requirment wise) but probs then wont be able to afford anything else :lol:

yes they have got reflectors, im only going to start with live rock. what sort of metal halide lights would i need and what would the cost be. thanks for your reply
 
if you were goin for halides id recon about £300-400 if you wanted an all in one jobbie!
Something like this the 70cm version minimum..

like i say ull be going for the best of the best then, T5's are more cost effective and will still allow you to keep a wide range of corels :)
