I have been thinking about switching my tank's inhabitants to cichlids and was wondering if its possible? Or do i have to re-home all the current stock?

I have the following

1 golden gourami
11 neon tetra
7 platy
2 apple snails
1 bristlenose plec
2 danio

96 litre tank (i think) Juwell

Inernal filter but i expect to change that to a good external

thanks for your advice

If you want to keep your current stock, you'll want to stick with New World cichlids.

Most of the African cichlids would be out, that includes mbuna, haps and peacocks (all from Lake Malawi), and any of the Lake Tanganikya cichlids. However, some of the riverine species may work. :good:

Small tank so you are fairly limited on cichlid choices. You could keep your current stock and add a pair of dwarf cichlids.i.e rams, apistogramma.
