Help!

I had 2 Gold Gourami's who were very peaceful up until today, then noticed the male was being very aggressive towards the female, not letting her out of the corner. After reading loads of topics on here, I went to the lfs and picked up 2 new similar sized, same colour females. problem is, they're all now really aggressive towards each other and occasionally my 2 orange Mollies are getting caught up in it all, I'm guessing as they're the same colour. I also rearranged the tank before they went in to break up any terrotories there may have been.

Tank is a 3ft tank, cycled (fish in unfortunately) a while ago. Other tankmates are Zebra Danios, Mollies and Black Widow Tetras. Levels are Ammonia 0, Nitrite 0 and Nitrates 20. PH is 8, which i know is high, but we have a natural high Ph over here.

Any suggestions on where to go from here?

Thanks
Charlotte

I think you have added to the problem getting 2 more of these
gold gouramis are extremely territorial and get aggressive if other fish swim into their territory
if the tank is unplanted then the male will take the majority of the tank as his

THESE fish require a heavilly planted tank

The tank is too small for all these golden gouramis and all the fish you have in there as there isnt enough room for all the gouramis to have their own territory without other fish contantly swimming into it

YOU need to return the other 2 right away before any deaths occur

how many gallons is the tank?
planted?
number of tank mates species/amount?

good luck sorry not better news

oh, i just followed advice other posters had given on previous threads with similar problems.

The tank is quite planted with wisteria, 3 x spiral vallis, 4/5 xstraight vallis, 3 x sword plants, 2 different grasses and a couple of others that i don't know the name of. Hiding places, i have 2 flower pots and a skull.

Other tank mates are 11 X Danios, 2 BW Tetra's and 7 Mollies. Gallons... um...it's about 128L from memory. We have plans to upgrade to a 4ft tank next year, so figured the occupants would be alright at the size they are till then.
