I'm looking for someone with vast spreadsheet knowlage

I'm wanting to create a sheet that when you enter a word into one
box it displays a value (a discription for that word).
in another box. a spreadsheet dictonary if you like.
both (words and values) are held on other sheets within the
workbook.

I think I need to use the IF facility but is it mindboggling
any and all help is appreciated

alternativly do you know any easy to use
web program that will do what I need?

actually you would need to use the vlookup this is a great example
