I have a 240ltr tank with a fluval 306 ex filter. The filter In/out pipes are fixed, ie come straight through the bottom of the tank in the back right corner. Does anybody know of a spray bar that will fit straight onto this or am I going to have to make my own? Even with the flow rate turned down and after playing with the two nozzle directions the flow is very fierce.
Any advice would be appreciated.

I think we need a bit more info to be able to answer this. What make of tank have you got? Is the in/out pipe setup custom to the tank or did it come like this new? What size is the outlet pipe? Have you tried attaching the spray bar from the 306 to it? Do you have any photos of the pipe work?

i would say yes, there should be a spray bar available for it, you just need to know what sorta pipe is coming into the tank be it 16/22mm or the smaller 12/16mm pipe i think the small one is, the measurements are inner and outer diameter :D if you can find out which sort of pipe you got then you can look on ebay for a spray bar that will fit it :D hope this helps being a large tank i presume it is the 16/22mm as that seems to be the more common size of pipe no a days

Its a fluval roma 240. This is how the tank came. Trying to sort a photo now. Ive emailed hagen asking if they produce a 'proper' spraybar kit for it, if they dont i will get something near and make it fit. Was just wondering if anyone knew if there was a proper kit for this set up.

I emailed Hagen and there is a proper kit. Pt no. A235. £9.99. Ordered.

I have the fluval 406 external ( though the pipes come up the outside of the tank, over the edge then down into the water).
The outlet pipe creates quite a strong current across the surface and since adding floaty plants, they're constantly whizzing around, resting just in 1 corner.
I assume a spray bar would create less current, but retain the surface disturbance sufficiently for aeration? It's something I would also like to investigate. Is it an expensive part?

£13 delivered. Just put the pt no into a search engine. My plants are all over the place too and no matter what I do with the jets it's still too powerful. I ordered mine last night so as soon as I get it and set up (prob Monday) I will post with photos so you can see. I'm not worried about the aeriation as I've got air stones.

Oh and just make sure it fits your filter as that pt no is for a 306.

Sorry, just noticed, £9.99!!!! Durr!!!!! ;-)
Looked on the auction site that shall not be named and it looks like the ones for 205, fits 305, 405 etc, so will check, but think it could be the same with the 06s.

Spraybar now installed. The kit i got was a kit for the filters where the output tube runs up and over the back of the tank, thanks hagen! A trip to B+Q and i made it fit. Only trouble is it sticks out a bit with it been white, think i need some floating plants. The spraybar does its job well, even with the filter on max theres hardly any turbulence and the fish seem a lot happier. Photos below.

What size was the white pipe you got from bnq ? I have tha same tank and looking to do similat

It's just overflow pipe, it's a standard size. I got a couple of packs of odd rubber o rings whilst I was there, with a small amount of vasaline it was a snug water tight fit. My plants have grown over the white pipe now so you can't see it. I have some of the pipe left over so ill measure it tonight for you.
