Got a little spray bar filter with my tank, just wondering if this can be fully under water making a kind of ripple effect on the water surface.

Or do you need it splashin into the water?

Will be just shrimp in the tank, if that's any help.

Makes an awful lot of noise if I have it splashing in the tank... and it's in my bedroom

i put mine just under the water line so it wasnt so noisy

I've done the same lol, what position do you have yours?

Squirting up, down, sideways etc?

Haven't came across any problems yet have you? Cheers :good:

I just bought a new aqua 40 tank and the filter that came with it has a little spray bar. It's great-I have a betta in there, so I have it just below the water line, facing the side glass to disperse the flow.
Mine is also next to my bed and I find as long as I have the radio on, the noise is ok :good:

You dont need bubbles or splashing to put air in the tank - as long at the water surface is aggitated you are putting oxygen in the water - just below the surface will be fine!

As Gilli said, you only need surface movement to oxygenate the water so having the bar underwater is fine.
In my grow on tank I've got the spraybar facing the side of the tank so that the flow isn't overpowering for my fry.

Aswome, i've got my spray bar JUST under the water so it's quiet! My tank is over the other end of my bedroom and I can't hear it at all :good: plus I sleep with my fan on a timer for 1 hour as my house is always walm

Cheers!
