im not sure if you guys no what this is...if you live in florida you should ....ocean sponges the ones that used to be alive can you put those in your fw tank

I wouldnt reccomend it, they are generally made up of calcium carbonate and other minerals that would mess with the pH of your tropical tank a great deal. If you want something like this you would be better off getting some plastic corals or sponges.

k... how high would they rase it cause i have bogwood in my tank now so i dont think it will hurt

its hard to say, but i would deffinately say its a bad idea if you have bogwood in the tank aswell, the pH is likely to fluctuate even more!

If you have bogwood just get some nice simple plants like java fern or anubias and grow them on the bogwood.

its not coral its a sponge like some they used to use them for wasing cars but it got to expencive so i dont think it would have calcium carbonate because is that not hard or sharp

if i run it through water with chlorine then water without chlorine would that be good enough to kill harmful bacteria

why exactly do you want to put a sea sponge in your tank?

I think it's a bad idea as it will leach salt and all kinds of minerals found in the ocean...

its hard to explain there a sponge from the sea that you can use to was stuff with as in its a functional sponge but poeple fish them for a living i bought mine in a store there super decoritive and come in all different shapes there yellow.....i dont think the salts would have stayed in it all this time
