my LFS has sold out of sponge filters that I was going to buy for my hospital tank , I have a bit of sponge in my fluval that I can cut to fit most sizes so it would be cycled but does anyone recommend a cheap one from that well known auction site ? or from anywhere really ? looking to put under £10 as it would only be used in emergencys

thanks

depends on what size you want but I have just got one from ebay for £4.48 but that is only a small tank work up to 50litres hope this helps

its about a 25-30 litre plastic tank, basically it was sold in a local shop as a childs starter goldfish tank but it was only £3.49 so for the cost I thought it would be ideal for a hospital tank. does it run off an airpump ?

yes it do's I go it for my shrimp tank
I live in cotmanhay near you a small world have you been in the new pet shop chambers in the factory they might have one

small world - kirk hallam here.

not tried chambers, didnt realise they had moved yet. might give it a try on the way home from work. if not im going to try maidenhead aquatics at trowel as ive got to get some new plants from there anyway today, before going on the well known auction site if all else fails, just need to get my sick platty into a smaller take so I can treat it.

not been to maidenhead aquatic's were's that not heard of it been to the one next to festival brought some guppies that didn't live 2 weeks but thats where I got my shrimps from,
I love bardills at stapleford good prices as well

Chambers moved about a week and a half ago not got the livestock yet though

the one at the side of the festival (east mids aquatics) is a good little place, i had all my fish from there and touch wood not had problems with them (lost one neon tetra due to overstocking of a 31 litre tank and one blue ram but my water stats were out when I got him so my fault) east mids aquatics has a facebook page thats well worth adding as they put offers on there that are only open to people on his page.

maidenhead aquatics is within trowell garden centre - well worth a visit i love the place. 4 plants for £10, live food for 75p, brilliant selection of fish and products, its worth going just for a look around. I go every friday after work to have a nosey round and pick up some live food as a treat for my fish.

we go a lot to shipley garden centre never been to trowel will have to go and have a look round
