Think it would be possible to split a 3ft tank in 2. But run both tanks with the same filter. If the hose is longer from 1 tank would the flow be different?

I'm not sure how you were planning on splitting the tank but i know they make screen or mech dividers. You could try that if you only want ot run one filter. There are several draw backs to wanting to split a tank and run it on the same filter.
1. If you have the intake on one side of the mesh then the other wont get cleared from debris.
2. The temp, hardness, and ph stay the same so your limited to fish that will fit in your water conditions.
3. Unless you want to keep an agressive species on one side and a community on the other side then there is no point. As stated above in #2 the fish need to be able to survive in the same water conidtions. Your just losing tank space and it wouldn't look as good IMO.

I wanted to split the tank, as my wife wont let me keep 2 tanks. So splitting a 3ft tank with siliconed glass as a divider. I didnt want to spend money buying another filter, if at all possible running off 1 filter. As for whats going in, it would be for bee shrimps. No fishes would be involved.

If you split your tank with glass, you'd need a filter for each side.
