Hey folks got this as part of a deal, and I have cleaned with bleach and now got bubbles coming out the top which is cool, but....

Are these things meant to fill with water?

The way I work out I think it should, as there is a hole in the bottom of the coil which I am guessing should allow water (from chamber) in to help diffuse with the co2 on it's way up through the spiral until the rest of the co2 can gas off through the ceramic plate?

Now unless I force water into the chamber with a syringe (which itself is nearly impossible) it seems to remain water tight!

What's the score with these things then?!

even if it does fill with water the spiral doesnt dissolve any more CO2 than a regular diffuser. This is because eventually the water inside the spiral becomes saurated with CO2 (so no more can be dissolved in it) therefore it just passes straight through.
