My lfs rescue Spike the yellow VT died 2 days ago
He was in perfect condition the day before as I was showing people how well his fins were growing back and he was swimming around fine and eating. Everything was normal. Then the next day I glanced in his tank and he was sat on the bottom, he managed to swim up to me and he seemed normal so I left it. Then came back in hour or 2 later and he was gasping, his face had turnt white and he was just sat on the bottom
Within the hour he was dead. I dont know what went wrong so quickly
He was in a divided 10g with Milligan my crowntail in 1 half - Im watching him closely and he is in perfect condition - comes up and flares at me, gobbles down his food swims about, flares at himself. I noticed though in Spikes half, the gravel is dirty, theres algae growing on the glass and over the pebbles - where as Milligans half is spotless! I dont understand that as the water can flow through the dividers, its all filtered by 1 filter and heated by the 1 heater. Buit Milligans half has NO algae anywhere atall. Im completly emptying the tank this weekend, putting Milliagan in a breeder box in another tank while I do it and changing the gravel, cleaning the tank right out.
I just dont understand the algae in 1 half but not the other, water flows through the dividers just fine
Spike was my first betta
