Spider Plants?

Hi,
Can spider plants be used in aquairums completely submerged?
I (well, my mum) has loads as they keep on growing os i was thinking i could use them in my tank.

they'd survive for a while but never a good idea to keep submerged indefinitely.. nice for a terrnium or other moist environment though

I do keep spider plants with my aquarium but not submerged. The plant is above water but the roots are submerged.
