Spider plant cutting in tank

I've just put a spider plant cutting in my fry breeding tank with pond snails in it. Will the snails damage the plant roots?

They shouldn't hurt it. Most smaller snails only eat dead or damaged plant matter (along with algae, fish food, and dead things), so they should be fine.
